黛黛：1971年普赖斯提出了一个衡量各个学科领域文献老化量度指标--普赖斯指数。即指在一个具体学科内，把对年限不超过5年的引文数量与引文总数之比当做一个指标，用以量度文献的老化速度与程度。自然，普赖斯指数越大，文献老化越快。
