麦子:我遇到一个最差劲的图书馆员是崇拜卡斯特罗,骂美国历届共和党政府,而且把这种思绪带到参考咨询中,引起学生投诉。
扣肉:我不能给学生传递正能量,但是我觉得图书馆的馆员应该教会学生自己思考。学生来借书或者查找资源,显然是为了有所收获,那我就要辅导他从有限的馆藏资源中发现有用的东西。
麦子:图书馆员只能告诉读者如何找资源,但不能加入自己观点。其实图人的基本职业标准,在1939年开始采用的ALA图书馆员的道德信条里的第七条:We distinguish between our personal convictions and professional duties and do not allow our personal beliefs to interfere with fair representation of the aims of our institutions or the provision ofaccess to their information resources.这些标准用了差不多八十年,有是有道理的,比如读者隐私。以前在图情读书时强调,如果前面有读者要造炸弹的资料,即使警方来,除非有法院许可,图书馆员是不可以提供信息的。1939年开始采用的ALA图书馆员的道德信条:We provide the highest level of service to all library users through appropriate and usefullyorganized resources; equitable service policies; equitable access; and accurate, unbiased, and courteous responses to all requests.We uphold the principles of intellectual freedom and resist all efforts to censor library resources.We protect each library user's right to privacy and confidentiality with respect to information sought or receivedand resources consulted, borrowed, acquired or transmitted.We respect intellectual property rights and advocate balan。ce between the interests of information users and rights holders.We treat co-workers and other colleagues with respect, fairness, and good faith, and advocate conditions of employment that safeguard the rights and welfare ofall employees of our institutions.We do not advance private interestsat the expense of library users, colleagues, or our employing institutions.We distinguish between our personal convictions and professional duties and do not allow our personal beliefs to interfere with fair representation of the aims of our institutions or the 。provision of access to their information resources.We strive for excellence in the profession by maintaining and enhancing our own knowledge and skills, by encouraging the professional development of co-workers, and byfostering the aspirations of potential members of the profession.
中国图书馆学会于2002年制定并颁发《中国图书馆员职业道德准则》,正圕人堂周讯(总第111期 20160624)- 11 -文1.确立职业观念,履行社会职责。2.适应时代需求,勇于开拓创新。3.真诚服务读者,文明热情便捷。4.维护读者权益,保守读者秘密。5.尊重知识产权,促进信息传播。6.爱护文献资源,规范职业行为。7.努力钻研业务,提高专业素养。8.发扬团队精神,树立职业形象。9.实践馆际合作,推进资源共享。10.拓展社会协作,共建社会文明。
麦子:比较一下。7-10似乎不该是图书馆员职业道德准则,很滑稽的。尤其是9,1,2都有点问题。不该放在这‘道德’准则里。
tianart:有部分内容应该是职业精神。
hanna:没有讲到客观中立。
麦子:这么多人,做成这样的东西,我想未必是都不懂,而是有些人不懂,但余下的即使懂也未必敢说。
麦子:客观中立是这个职业核心精神。读者是来查资料的,不是来听你意见的。
